South Side Help Center offers comprehensive benefits to help our employees do and be their very best! These benefits are intended to enhance employee physical, financial, spiritual, and professional health
South Side Help Center’s mission to serve people and strengthen communities is done by providing direct prevention and intervention services designed to enhance the quality of life for individuals, families and community. With a compassion for people, commitment to service, motivation to affect change, and knowledge about your role and responsibilities as a HIV Test Counselor you will help to fulfill this mission by providing culturally sensitive, HIV counseling and testing to a diverse population of at-risk persons in a variety of settings.
Implementing HIV testing through various methods including Mobile Unit Testing, event testing, daily street outreach and other non-traditional venues, you’ll utilize your experience as a HIV Test Counselor who has worked in multicultural environments and your knowledge of issues impacting people of color living with HIV to support your efforts in coordinating referrals resources and linkage service to providers that are able to address our client’s needs. You will ensure clients are educated about HIV and how to prevent disease transmission, understand the process of HIV testing and the importance of knowing their status. You will also ensure clients have timely access to comprehensive medical care and treatment.
Your position as an HIV Test Counselor will contribute to the success of South Side Help Center as a whole by lending a hand when needed, showing flexibility, paying attention to details, adapting to change and thinking of your role as a part of the larger SSHC team rather than exclusive.
