The role of the Psychosocial Support Specialist contributes to the CALOR/AHF mission by providing effective and efficient coordination, implementation, and facilitation of Psychosocial Services in the organization. The Psychosocial Support Specialist is responsible for designing psychosocial support groups, conducting outreach and recruitment for the psychosocial support groups, and working directly with AIDS Foundation of Chicago Case Managers. The Psychosocial Support Specialist works with other program team members to enhance the number of psychosocial support clients receiving services from AHF/CALOR. The Psychosocial Support Specialist will achieve a long-term involvement of community institutions, organizations and individuals in health promotion, assessment and evaluation activities.

 

The Psychosocial Support Specialist is a vital part in helping CALOR/AHF with its mission to provide compassionate and informed care to our clients.  These duties allow the opportunity to engage within the community and educate those at risk.  Caring, personable and relatable team members enhance the probability of clients returning for services in the future.

 

The Psychosocial Support Specialist helps the healthcare department team within AHF to further develop by contributing services to clients that will increase their retention and adherence to medical care. 

 

The Psychosocial Support Specialist adds consistent value to the Chicago team by adapting to a fast pace environment with ease and by being flexible.
