Broward House, Inc. is a not-for-profit community-based organization serving Broward County with a focus on HIV care and Prevention, housing, and behavioral health.  Broward believes in the dignity and value of every person who walks through the door. This position is responsible for supporting agency Development efforts through marketing efforts, activity logistics, stakeholder stewardship and branding consistency of social media, technology media and print items.

In addition to other responsibilities, this position will have the opportunity to:

  • Designs and maintains agency Marketing Materials for Development and Program Services, including but not limited to Constant Contact, Written Material, social media, Flyers, Agency Introduction Packet, and Newsletter.
  • Broaden social networking and website to benefit the organization including regular postings as assigned.
  • Scans social media, print media and other news outlets for pertinent agency information and directs information to Executive Staff or Director of Development (DOD) as appropriate.
  • Prepares press releases and media updates for agency activities and events as assigned by DOD.
  • Maintain contact information and essential data in agency development database.
  • Provide logistical support for development activities, which may include but not limited to silent auction, set up, participation, volunteer organization.
  • Engage staff in event participation and knowledge of Marketing and Development Events
  • Participates in committees, task forces and meetings as assigned.
  • Develop and maintain volunteers for reception and development.
  • Provide acknowledgement post events to participants, volunteers, and sponsors.
  • Manage 3rd Party Structured Events and internal marketing events, as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Skills/ Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, design or related field, preferred.
  • One years’ experience in event planning or related activities.
  • Professional social media and Website management experience
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Advance computer skills
  • Business communication, written and verbal, etiquette.
  • Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries.
  • Group presentation skills
  •  Stakeholder stewardship skills
  • Creative and solution focused.
  • Ability to use discretion and independent judgement in regard to matters of significance.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, collaborating with stakeholders and the public.
  • Ability to demonstrate and model culturally competent behavior.
  • Basic math skills required: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES

  • HIV 500
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License and proof of insurance required. 
  • Must have on-going reliable transportation for work-related activities.
