A HIV Testing Counselor/Re-engagement Specialist contributes to AHF by The role of an HIV Testing Counselor/Re-Engagement Specialist is vital in helping AHF with our mission to provide compassionate and informed care to our clients. Within the duties of HIV testing, engaging those identified as positive, and reengagement of Health Care Patients who have fallen out of care, this position has the opportunity to engage in outreach efforts within community, educating those at risk, and assisting with continuity of care. Caring, personable, and professional counselors create a trusting environment, which enhances the probability of clients returning for future services.

A HIV Testing Counselor/Re-engagement Specialist enhances the reputation of AHF by Providing the best possible care includes ensuring clients are well informed concerning their illness, encouraged to adhere to routine care, and assisted with barriers that prevent it.

The HIV Testing Counselor/Re-engagement Specialist will work as a part of a close-knit team to contributes to the team centered approach within the Healthcare Center by assisting with the development of outreach strategies to reach those needing testing and those needing to brought back into care. In addition, they provide feedback to their leaders on services and process improvement to increase overall continuity of care.

Licenses and Certifications: Medical Assistant Certificate/Diploma & HIV testing 500/501 Certification
