Summary: 

The Youth Outreach Educator and Assistant is responsible for the development and provision of educational programs to youth and adults in community-based organizations and schools. While being hired to serve the needs of a specific grant, the grant under which this position is funded may change to meet the needs of the department, community, and affiliate. In addition to outreach and educational efforts this position will also assist with administrative tasks at the youth and family center.  

  

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and implement high quality education programs related to sexual health to youth and adults in a variety of settings.
  • Facilitate evidence-based programs (EBPs) and other education programs, as assigned.
  • Recruit, coordinate and facilitate adult education programming for caregivers and youth.
  • Provide resource consultation to community-based organizations regarding sexual health education.
  • Identify professional and community audiences and market education programs.
  • Assist with Data collection and data entry to meet grant requirements 
  • Assist with intake procedures and managing client referrals
  • Respond to the educational needs of the region by acting as an informational resource for agencies in the area regarding issues involving sexual health education.
  • Respond to community agencies in a timely manner and develop and maintain contacts in the community and local schools in order to market programs.’
  • Keep updated records of office expenses and costs 
  • Answer office phones and respond to voicemails in a timely manner
  • Respond to email inquiries in a timely manner

 

Requirements: 

  • Proven work experience as a Receptionist, Front Office Representative or similar role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Prefer experience working with LGBTQIA+, HIV+, mental health or non-profit communities
  • Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g. fax machines and printers)
  • Professional attitude and appearance
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Customer service attitude
  • High school degree; additional certification in Office Management is a plus
  • Reliable transportation required
