Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Bookkeeping / Accounting via QuickBooks.
  • Monthly invoicing for contracts /grants. 
  • Monthly cash flow update. 
  • Statement of position (Balance Sheet).
  • Statement of activities (P&L). 
  • Finance dashboard (Budget vs Actual). 
  • Assist with preparation of annual budget as needed.
  • Create organization/project budgets for grant proposal and reports (WORLD will provide a schedule of due dates at least 2 weeks ahead of time if possible).
  • Support audit process.
  • Ensure an effective system of internal controls is in place.
  • Ongoing communication regarding upcoming grant proposal and reports. 
  • Weekly meeting with the Interim Executive Director
  • Other duties may be assigned.

 

Participation in Meetings/Committees

Attends meetings as assigned and /or requested by supervisor.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in accounting from four-year college or university in business, accounting, or other finance related field and seven to ten years related experience and/or training, preferable in non-profit and/or health care environment or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

 

Computer/Software Skills & Abilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Contact Management Systems; Database software; Microsoft Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

 

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. 

 

Mathematical Skills

Very High Skills:  Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.  Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

 

Reasoning Ability

Very High Skills:  Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
