YOUR CONTRIBUTION TO OUR SUCCESS!

We’re seeking a proactive and creative Web Design Intern to join our web team, contributing to improving overall user experiences and developing websites across AHF’s Marketing department. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about user-centered design and frontend development who wants to gain hands-on experience in a collaborative environment with a passion for social health and social causes.

 

Key Responsibilities:

User Research: Assist in gathering user insights and collaborate with team members to define project goals and user needs
Wireframing & Prototyping: Develop low to high fidelity mockups and interactive prototypes that reflect a clear and intuitive user experience
Visual Design & Branding: Implement style guides, design principles, and brand guidelines to create cohesive and appealing interfaces
Frontend Development: Implement and maintain features using HTML, CSS, and Javascript (or relevant frameworks), ensuring responsive design and best practices
Iterative Testing & Refinement: Conduct or assist in usability testing, gather feedback and refine designs to improve functionality
Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including designers, project managers, marketers and other stakeholders to translate project requirements into functional, visually appealing websites
Quality Assurance & Testing: Participate in testing processes, identifying bugs, and collaborating with the team to resolve usability and performance issues

 

What You Will Learn:
● Comprehensive Development Cycle: Exposure to the life cycle of web projects, from concept and design to deployment and optimization
● User Experience Best Practices: Hands-on learning of UX principles, user research methods, interactive design process, and how they shape engaging web experiences
● Professional Collaboration: Enhance communication skills by working in a supportive environment
● Technical Proficiency: Gain practical experience

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Must be a fulltime student at an accredited 4-year college or post graduate
  • Majoring in Computer Science, Human-computer Interaction, Marketing or a related field
  • Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher majoring in Marketing or related field
  • Must commit to the full duration of the program and full time hours
  • Must have exceptional computer skills 
  • Complete full internship starts June 2th – August 29th 
  • Work hours are Monday-Friday 8:30 am-5:30 pm
  • Hybrid Schedule
  • Working knowledge with Figma and other design tools
  • Strong communication and problem solving skills
  • Basic understanding of frontend development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Strong attention to detail, with an eye for visual harmony and user experience
  • Positive, team-focused and eagerness to learn
  • Passionate about social causes and health disparities
