A Training Specialist contributes to AHF by by enhancing the onboarding experience and leading training and development initiatives within the Department of Medicine (DOM), this position plays a key role in improving staff readiness and performance. It will involve frequent travel to Healthcare Centers to identify knowledge and performance gaps and implement targeted, effective training solutions. This will be a unique role within AHF, dedicated to supporting a specific service line, while reporting into the HR Learning & Development function to ensure alignment with organizational training standards and strategy.
A Training Specialist enhances the reputation of AHF by creating a culture of professional growth and continuous learning within the Department of Medicine. Ensuring a strong, consistent onboarding process and providing ongoing development opportunities will improve employee readiness, engagement, and ultimately the quality of patient care. This role strengthens AHF’s mission by empowering DOM teams with the tools they need to succeed.

AHF has a collaborative organizational structure where staff are accountable to multiple leaders.
The Training Specialist will work as a part of a close knit team to assess training needs, create engaging learning content (eLearnings, live trainings, job aids), deliver impactful sessions, and evaluate outcomes using data-driven methods. A major focus will be the ongoing improvement and standardization of DOM’s onboarding programs to ensure consistency, clarity, and support in the first 90 days and beyond. You will also help close skill gaps and improve clinical and operational outcomes through well-designed learning strategies. Success in this role will require close collaboration with DOM leaders to understand frontline challenges, as well as strong partnership with the existing L&D team to ensure alignment and coordination across national, regional, and site-specific initiatives. Proficiency in Excel for analyzing and presenting data (charts, graphs, etc.) and familiarity with tools like Articulate Rise and Articulate Storyline for content development are important for success in this role.
Licenses/ Certifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Education, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or a related field is preferred. Proven experience in developing and delivering training in a healthcare or clinical setting is beneficial.
