TEMP Position - 1 month duration with possible extension.
A Payor Relations Patient Engagement Specialist (PRPES) contributes to AHF by blending the mission with care coordination. The PRPES works in conjunction with the Payor Relations Quality Improvement & Contracting teams to ensure that all attributed patients have access to primary care services, which will address urgent healthcare needs, overdue screenings, or unmanaged chronic conditions, as well as reduce avoidable ER visits and hospitalizations. The ideal PRPES also maintains concentrated customer focus and cultural competency.
A PRPES enhances the reputation of AHF by improving access to care and promoting improved health outcomes, which leads to longer, healthier, and happier lives.

AHF has a collaborative organizational structure where staff are accountable to multiple leaders.
The PRPES will work as a part of a close-knit team to perform compassionate, ethical, and professional telephonic outreach to 100% of assigned patients within the designated timeframe, facilitate appointment scheduling for ≥30% of contacted patients and ensure 100% documentation of outreach attempts and patient responses. A PRPES will also have excellent written and verbal communication skills, familiarity with EHR systems and clinical practices, and the ability to multi-task, set priorities, and manage time effectively. A PRPES will pay close attention to detail and have the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Licenses and Certifications:
Previous experience in a customer support role required.
Managed Care experience preferred.
Bilingual Spanish preferred.
