Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide sound technical assistance to the project team in the implementation of HIV Mass mobilization and routine counseling and testing
  • Oversees counseling activities and ensures up to date practices are in place aimed at maintaining high quality of counseling and maximizing the use of all resources
  • Ensures adequate counseling procedures are in place for all counselors involved in the project
  • Facilitate linkage of AHF’s ART, PMTCT, TB programs with the HCT program
  • Participates in  the development, replication, and establishment of the counseling protocols and practices at all affiliated project sites
  • Participates in designing and determining patient flow systems for HCT at different sites to achieve maximum efficiency
  • Participates in planning and supportive supervision activities for all sites involved in the project
  • Provides training for counselors and other cadres on HCT
  • Writes reports on trainings, supportive supervisions, needs assessment, accountability, and any other documents as the need arises
  • Participates in conducting needs assessments and recommending trainings based on gaps identified



  • Minimum of  Diploma  in Clinical Nursing from a recognized institution; having a psychology education or midwifery background is an added advantage
  • At least three years’ experience in HIV program management, with particular emphasis on HIV counseling, with an international NGO or developmental agency
  • Training in HIV management and HCT/PMTCT
  • Must be highly organized and capable of effective multi-tasking
  • Enjoys working as a member of a cohesive multi-cultural team, and is good at doing so
  • Good communication skills in English and Amharic
