Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILIIES:

  • Perform HIV counseling and testing at the clinic and outreach sites
  • Recording and registration of VCT Data on the respective registration and client
  • Facilitate the distribution and check adequacy of HCT supplies for all outreach sites
  • Monitor the day to day outreach testing activities and provide technical assistance to counselors, laboratory technicians and registration clerks
  • Assist the counselors coordinator and prevention program manager in improving the quality of the HCT activities
  • Review outreach data and conduct regular supportive supervision to all outreach staff.
  • Prepare the monitoring and supervision report and submit to the counselors coordinator 
  • Capacity building of the outreach HCT staff by organizing orientation sessions on updates of the HCT program
  • Assist the Counselor Coordinator in new outreach site assessment and establishment
  • Facilitate the referral linkage process from the outreach testing sites to different health care facilities
  • Assists other outreach HCT activities as deemed necessary
  • Execute other activities related to the position assigned by the Prevention Program Manager and Country Program Manager. 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of  Diploma  in Clinical Nursing from a recognized institution; having a psychology education is an added advantage
  • At least three years’ experience in HIV program management, with particular emphasis on HIV counseling, with an international NGO or developmental agency
  • Training in HIV management and HCT/PMTCT
