  • The Medical Officer (MO) will provide clinical care to clients who are registered with AHF including ART, OI management, other conditions arising from drug intolerance and side effects of drugs, if any.
  • Provide clinical care for individuals co-infected with TB and HIV, clinical services to Prevent Mother-to-Child (PMTCT) HIV transmission and provide clinical care for acute and chronic co-morbid conditions including hypertension and diabetes mellitus.
  • Develop standard operating procedures for the provision of HIV clinical care at the site/s and provide hands on training for tracking defaulters, or clarifying referral pathways by developing appropriate algorithms as per AHF global SOP and T&T principal.
  • Focal person and point of contact to coordinate with technical/clinical teams to analyze reports on HIV/AIDS care and treatment activities implemented by AHF.
  • Facilitate Drug supply systems/Consumables according to treatment regimens in the clinic sites.
  • Monitoring and supervising activities of data collection, data input and reports related to clinical examinations, treatment, family and individual counseling, medicine distribution and maintenance, lab investigations and HIV testing.
  • Participate as a member of the quality management and regional support visit team for the region(s) for periodic on-site clinical mentoring, review and monitoring.
  • Review reporting on utilization of drugs and consumables in the clinic sites.
  • Develop formats and institutionalize systems for periodically updating Global/Bureau office regarding treatment details as per the requirement
  • Submit a monthly report PPR and quarterly reports QPR and share findings on clinical activities and make recommendations to improve quality of services.
  • Create platforms to capture and demonstrate innovative strategies developed in the AHF Clinical services/programs and the work on the scope for replication in the National context.
  • Develop resource base of experiences, documents, manuals and best practices for wider dissemination.
  • Collate existing technical resources, training materials, tools, SOP in context of national guidelines and support to Senior Management Team of AHF India Cares.
  • Prepare work plans for the clinical units in implementation and reporting and best practices.
  • Assist the Senior Management team in building partnerships and working relationship with STRCs/TSUs/SACs/NACO and different potential Donors/Partners.
  • Represent the project internally with AHF and externally with implementing partners, stakeholders, and donors on matters of clinical service.
  • Work collaboratively with the Country Program Manager and respond to the Country coordinating team.
  • Supervise clinics and medical team.


Education and/or Experience:

  • The MO will be a medical graduate with MBBS degree and completed ART training.
  • At least 4 years experience in providing clinical care for People living with HIV AIDS.
  • Should be able to travel to Clinic sites in India as and when necessary.
  • Should have good written and oral communication skills in English and Hindi. Any additional regional/ local language/s will be an advantage.
  • Should have good negotiation, communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills in order to be able to manage relationships.
  • Should have the ability to meet deadlines and to manage multiple priorities while working as part of a team;
  • Should be a team player , self motivated and able to work under pressure;

Language Skills:

  • Fluency in English required.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. 
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. 

Other Skills & Abilities/Qualifications:

  • Travel nationally and internationally.
  • Must possess a valid passport.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:

  • Relevant Professional Degree (MBBS, FHAM, etc.) and experience certificates
  • Valid passport.
