Responsibilities

  • Responsible for carrying out research procedures in accordance with the protocol guidelines as provided by the Project Manager and Investigators;
  • Conduct chart reviews and other data collection activities as required, using a standardized chart extraction tools;
  • Record, organize and capture results of chart reviews in preparation for data analysis;
  • Record-keeping and data management, including keeping a log of patients on the study, test results, follow-up and treatment, as detailed in study protocol;
  • Liaise with Ithembalabantu Monitoring and Evaluation and HIV Counseling Departments to obtain and return patient clinical data;
  • Production of regular research progress reports to Program Support Coordinator Manager;
  • Handle data with care and respect patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Matrix or higher education level;
  • Fluency in English and Zulu (verbal and written);
  • Time management skills, basic administrative and organizational skills and ability to consistently meet deadlines;
  • Good personal skills, strong service ethic, sensitivity to patient information;
  • Professionalism and attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Flexibility to take on other duties as reasonably requested by the Project Manager and/or Co-investigators.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Speak English fluently;
  • Ability to read  and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, and maintenance      instructions, and procedure manuals;
  • Ability to write routine reports, and correspondence;
  • Ability to speak confidently before groups of customers or employees of organization
