AIDS Healthcare Foundation is seeking an IT Project Manager to work on a regular, fulltime basis.  This great opportunity is to join our Information Technology Department located in the city of Los Angeles, California.  The hours are Monday- Friday, from 8:30am to 5:30pm.  AHF offers a competitive hourly rate, DOE plus great benefits and an amazing work environment!


Job Purpose

The primary purpose of this job is to administer and run IT related projects for AHF. This position will work with business teams, vendors, infrastructure teams and network engineering to evaluate, design, and implement. Manages day to day tasks per project, send out project updates to PMO Manager, IT and Business teams.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Includes the following: (Other duties may be assigned.)



  • Document all projects, using Project Management Life Cycles.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Develop a detailed project plan to track progress
  • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs
  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Plan, budget, oversee and document all aspects of specific project
  • Designs, implements and manages digital voice communications services and equipment.
  • Gather Business requirements; attend meetings
  • Evaluates and makes recommendations on new products, services and systems to improve the telecommunications reliability, productivity and quality.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and training plans for any project needed.
  • Collaborates with the Network team to analyze local and remote networks to ensure optimization and cost savings.
  • Handle Telecom orders with various vendors (ATT, Verizon, Windstream, and etc.)
  • Engage with Avaya business partner in data gathering calls, send and receive all updates regarding current and upcoming sites.
  • Develop, streamline, and optimize complex routing strategies and explain them in simple business terms.
  • Coordinates and maintains support and service contracts and maintenance agreements as they relate to telecommunication services and resources.
  • Makes recommendations towards process and policy changes to facilitate improvement in customer service and satisfaction.
  • Supervises telecommunication partners and relations, provides handholding from the organization side to resolve major issues or implement new systems and features as they relate to VoIP.
  • Works with multiple telecom vendors on a variety of products and service (MPLS, Voice, IP, ISDN, Hosting, Wireless/Mobility, Fiber etc.), to manage expectations and consolidate vendors and costs on a global basis.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer science, information technology, engineering or a computer-related field is required.
  • Experience working in healthcare settings such as hospitals, retail pharmacies or health plans is required.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in project management is required.
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP and other LAN/WAN protocols.
  • Solid understanding of Cloud based voice solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of fundamental IP routing and switching protocols (OSPF, STP, VTP) and technologies (VPN, NAT, QoS).
  • Prior project management experience on multi-site project.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • MSCE for Windows 2008/2012 strongly preferred.
  • Must be able to travel 40-50% of the time.
  • Great educational background, preferably in the fields of computer science or engineering for technical project managers
  • Proven working experience as a project administrator in the information technology sector
  • Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • PMP / PRINCE II certification is a plus: experience with Visio a plus
