  • Organize and execute grassroots—legislative correspondence including phone calls, letter writing, and engagement of the community in support of the 340B Drug Discount Program in the 2nd Oregon US Congressional district.
  • Build a local 340B coalition to meet monthly or as needed for immediate action.
  • Recruit volunteers to assist in advocacy demonstrations, actions, and legislative visits as it relates to the 340B Drug Discount Program.
  • Maintain a database of volunteer contact information for purposes of deployment for advocacy activities across the 2nd Congressional district.
  • Advocate for protecting the 340B program with AHF, local providers, community organizations, and similar personnel.
  • Travel to different areas within 2nd Congressional district in order to maximize opportunities for constituent engagement on 340B.
  • Coordinate in person meetings with local Congressional offices.
  • Identify opportunities for grassroots involvement within the respective area to reach 340B recipients, clients and the larger community.
  • Assist in the recruitment of providers to the Ryan White Clinics for 340B Access coalition.
  • Participate in conference calls with AHF advocacy team members on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Participate and join when applicable existing relative governmental planning bodies for engagement and education on the 340B Drug Discount Program.
  • On a weekly basis, communicate via e-mail to advocacy team members on outreach locations and healthcare providers met with and/or contacted and prospective outreach plans for the following week.
  • Participate in other AHF advocacy led priorities when needed.
  • Submit photos of events when applicable of 340B grassroots activity and educational forums/ gatherings with volunteers on 340B.


  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A desire for political change.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Strong self-direction and the ability to take initiative.
  • Previous field or canvassing experience is a plus.

Computer/Software Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software.
  • Proficiency with internet search and electronic mail use.
  • Ability to effectively present information in both written and oral forms.


Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be able to travel within respective area.
  • Needs to be sensitive to issues impacting vulnerable populations.
  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities when leading events and managing volunteers in accordance with AHF’s policies and procedures.
