Under the supervision of the Director of Linkage Services, the Specialist delivers Linkage services to newly diagnosed HIV positive individuals and to positive individuals who have fallen out of care, and performs outreach to build community partnerships facilitating optimal transitions from HIV testing to HIV medical care. The Linkage Specialist will exhibit a strong understanding and experience in the following:
The Linkage Specialist will:
Linkage staff meetings
Periodic Benefit Counselor meetings
Periodic Healthcare Center meetings, as appropriate
Periodic Public Health Division all staff meetings
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Bachelors degree in Public Health, Psychology or a related field; five to six years health program-related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a high level of computer literacy in both PC and Mac OS.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Bilingual Spanish-English preferred.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
