Summary: This position is responsible for managing all monitoring and evaluation activities for AHF Malawi program. The M/E Officer will provide leadership in the collection, collation and validation of relevant data, and will ensure timely submission of reports to the Bureau. He will oversee training and support supervision of service providers in order to ensure data quality.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the collection, collation, validation and reporting of key Country and Program indicators and Africa Bureau M&E plan indicators for all supported sites
  • Provide leadership, guidance, technical assistance and administrative support to all data staff and support heads of departments in addressing M&E needs/activities
  • Conduct periodic data audits and data quality assessments with the various data managers
  • Work with the Country Program Manager and other departmental heads in rolling out training and capacity building on all aspects of AHF Monitoring and Evaluation
  • Participate in the development of M&E guidelines and data collection tools that are well integrated within the general HMIS; and effectively contribute to development and operationalization of national level M&E plan
  • Ensure standardization of all data collection tools and methodologies across implementing partners and sites within the program
  • Support the programs in their dialogue with key partners at country and district level to ensure that the program’s M&E activities are integrated, meaningful and achievable
  • Work with data clerks at site level to develop and project targets for the country program. Support the medical team to constantly monitor and evaluate the performance of the program against the set targets in all supported sites
  • Provide data and evidence to the quality country level team to highlight areas and sites that need improvement
  • Generate statistical and narrative weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports for the Program for circulation at Bureau level, country level, district level and partners and ensure their timely submission
