Welcome to Women Organized to Respond to Life-threatening Diseases (WORLD), an affiliate of AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), a diverse organization for, by, and about women living with, and at risk for, HIV/AIDS. WORLD improves the lives and health of women, girls, families and communities affected by HIV through peer-based education, wellness services, advocacy, and leadership development. WORLD is seeking a full-time Team Leader to join the team at the WORLD office located in Oakland, California.

YOUR CONTRIBUTION TO OUR SUCCESS!

  • Serves as Team Leader for early intervention services, outreach, linkage and peer advocacy.
  •  Conducts outreach in various settings and to diverse populations in Alameda County, Contra Costa County, and other local areas.

  • Co-facilitates WORLD client support groups as needed.
  • Provides non-direct to information about HIV treatments, stress reduction and health care strategies.
  • Refers clients to the WORLD house, AHF clinics and pharmacies.
  • Maintains a client caseload and provides linkage and retention services to clients.
  • Provides support and referrals for dealing with difficult issues (disclosure, adherence, parenting, relationships, pregnancy and HIV, substance use).
  • Provides transportation to clients.
  • Completes written documentation in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Monitors assigned program areas and ensures that program objectives are met.
  • Works closely with the Program Services Manager and contributes to the preparation of the program reports for funders in a timely manner.
  • Supervises assigned direct service staff, peer buddies and volunteers by tracking program deliverables.
  • Advocates for consumers by bringing concerns to attention of providers.
  • Attends and represents WORLD in community events and promotes WORLD services.
  • Tracks new client intakes, collecting referral sources, and following up with assigned direct service staff to ensure clients are appropriately being served.
  • Meets regularly with Program Services Manager to troubleshoot program issues, complete program reports and receive support and training in management and supervision.
  • Ability to work daytime and/or evening and weekend hours required.
