    Essential Job Duties 

    • Significantly increase the number of volunteers, the number of hours and donations.
    • Develop annual/quarterly outreach and communications plans to identify prospects and recruitment goals.
    • Develop strong relationships within the community which foster a positive agency image, making AID Atlanta the volunteer organization of choice among groups and individual volunteers.
    • Develop, plan, and facilitate volunteer orientation, as needed by position/assignment to successfully execute events.
    • Strategize and engage volunteers from corporations with volunteer service grants.
    • Utilize previous volunteer group contacts to renew groups and work to engage more groups and individuals to participate with the agency.
    • Recruit, confirm, orient, check in, supervise, review and thank all pre-event volunteers – approximately 250 – whose service projects include, but are not limited to, phone banking, mailings, canvassing, volunteer information/recruitment fairs, packing/loading
    • Recruit, confirm, orient, check in, review, and thank all AIDS Walk and Development  volunteers – approximately 1000 individuals
    • Work with agency leadership to recruit and utilize ‘Agency Ambassadors’ for health/information fairs, personal experience panels/client perspective, etc. In addition, the coordinator will engage staff and volunteer leadership to represent AID Atlanta at speaking engagements and third-party events.
    • Recruit, confirm, orient, check in, supervise, review and thank all post-event volunteers – approximately 100 whose service projects include, but are not limited to phone banking, mailings, packing, loading storage, etc. 
    • Ensure agency special events, agency-wide fundraising activities and other internal advancement requirements for volunteers are met and managed in a timely manner.
    • Manage the coordination of appropriate and meaningful volunteer experiences within AID Atlanta facilities and at off-site events.
    • Supervise participating organization volunteer hours and projects
    • Generate regular communication with volunteer base to engage them in the cause and encourage their participation in agency events, including fundraising
    • Maintain and operate individual volunteer records using Raisers Edge Volunteer Module
    • Flexible schedule with consistent evening availability required to host group volunteer work or produce events in to be expected
    • Ensure experience s are easy to access, meaningful for volunteers and productive for the agency.


    Other duties


    • Generate and distribute all requested certification of volunteer service hours as requested (schools, work court order, etc.)
    • Update Social Networking Coordinator to reflect all that is needed.
    • Ensure AIDS Walk Atlanta & 5K Run is represented at health fairs, community/tabling events to inform and recruit participants
    • Assist and attend other Development team related events as needed/some evenings and weekends will be required





    • Minimum of a high school diploma required. Associates or higher degree is preferred.



    • 1 to 2 years experience supervising or leading groups of volunteers, and fundraising experience is preferred.
    • Capable of working under stress in fast-paced, diverse, and active professional environment is required.
